Community Supported Agriculture

Community Supported Agriculture is a method of allowing the community (you) to directly share in the bounty and risk associated with growing the food you consume. By investing upfront, CSA members are preparing for local, fresh, in-season produce that directly benefits the farmers and eliminates the middle men expense and anonymity that grocery stores create. In addition you have greater visibility into and control over the food supply. Each share in the CSA will get a portion of what our farm produces, which is expected to provide two people with hopefully more than enough for one week. Weather conditions influence how well the crops do, and in turn how full each basket is from week to week. By joining you help support sustainable farming activities, become invested in your food supply, and ensure that farmers keep more of the food dollar and have an incentive to keep providing locally grown, chemical free, in-season produce for the health of you and our planet.

RiverSong Farm's CSA will run from June 21 to September 23, 2010. Shares will cost a total of $260 for the 13 week period. We will probably offer an extended season this year on a 4 week period basis after September. Payment was due in full by June 1st, but we have a few spots still available, and they will be available pro-rated at the time you join. If you do miss out this season our farm will be selling produce directly and on market days but CSA members have priority.

Each share in the CSA will get:
